Hi, I’m Steven, the proud owner of The Barney Bus.

Dogs have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. My family has always shared a deep love for dogs, and for many years we bred English Mastiffs — Barney’s breed — competing at Crufts and achieving success in many competitions.

Barney himself was a very long-awaited addition to our family. He comes from our family’s original breeding bloodline, so when he finally arrived in 2025, he was incredibly special to us.

The English Mastiff is considered one of the world’s largest dog breeds by mass and is affectionately known as one of the “gentle giants” of the dog world. Barney certainly lives up to that name. He’s big, gentle, loving and full of character — and it seemed only right that our next adventure should be named after him.

My journey into professional dog care began in 2024, when I decided to follow my passion and opened Bark Doggy Day Care in 2025. Bark has been an amazing experience and has taught me so much about what dogs really need to be happy and fulfilled.

One thing stood out more than anything else: the dogs absolutely loved their trips to the field.

After a good outdoor adventure — running, exploring, playing and enjoying the fresh air — they would return to Bark happy, content and relaxed. They’d had exactly what they needed.

That got me thinking.

With the rising costs of premises, rent and running a traditional daycare, I started asking myself: how could I focus even more on giving the dogs what they truly love?

And from that simple idea came…
